HAYLEY AND THE CRUSHERS Discography
One part punk-pop, one-part sunny surf, all “poolside glitter trash,” San Luis Obispo, California’s Hayley and the Crushers offer up a tsunami of bold, bad girl fun. Fizzy, frothy, and still a little dangerous, be careful just how far you paddle out. There’s blood in the water and the mermaids in this part of the Crusherverse are known to nibble.
The band is working on their follow up to Vintage Millennial (2020) and COOL/LAME (2018), albums that exemplify the group’s late night soda shop antics (with the Crushers, things tend to start sweet and end up sticky).
Front woman/guitarist Hayley “Crusher” Cain leads her mischievous Crushers (bassist Dr. Cain Esq. and drummer Action Benjamin Cabreana) with a wink and a snarl, a modern-day Gidget with a budget model Gretsch. You can call these weirdos “a demonic version of the Go Go’s…with more facial hair,” “the musical equivalent to bazooka bubblegum stuck to your combat boot” or “a dayglo slice of fun in a wicked world.” All come close to the truth (like cruising with the top down, it’s hard to say what’ll fly into your face).
Perhaps honorary Crusher Josie Cotton put it best: “the Crushers are the naked embodiment of power pop punk!”
“Like a Sour Patch Kid, Hayley and The Crushers are unapologetically bright and fun with a hint of mischief. Reminiscent of the Go-Go’s and Blondie…” -Francesca Volpe, Bust Magazine
